Large deciduous, extremely hardy tree. Grows up to 1 metre per year. Tolerant of harsh city conditions, air pollution, compacted and poor soils. Popular shade tree for parks, streets and large gardens. Light green, maple like leaves, with prickly hard fruit. Bark is mottled with patches of silver-grey. Deep root system.
