Botanical Name:
Gleditsia triacanthos var inermis Limegold
Common Name:
Honey Locust - Limegold
Description:
Very similar colour features to Gleditsia Sunburst. Spring foliage emerges a golden yellow making a striking statement in a park or garden and turns lime-green as the Summer season progresses before transforming to a buttery yellow again in Autumn. No thorns (inermis means ‘toothless’) Gleditsia are hardy, deciduous trees with fine leaves that sit perfectly positioned like bones along a spine. This leaf structure provides dappled shade and makes Gleditsia well suited as a specimen tree as it provides enough light for healthy lawn beneath.
